Legal bases of Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) are the Law relating to Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik of 22nd April 1993 (GVBl für Berlin S. 195) ('Law Gazette of Berlin' p. 195) and the Agreement in force of the Federal and Laender Government(s) relating to DIBt which is an integral part of this law. It represents the basis for the continuation of the Institut für Bautechnik (IfBt) founded in 1968. Structure and Agreement are laid down in more details in the Agreement and the Statutes.
