ETA product areas

A European technical approval can be granted for construction products for which harmonized specifications according to the Construction Products Directive do not (yet) exist or which deviate substantially from a harmonized standard.

Notifications of approval – Set-up The notification contains the description and use of the subject of approval, the provisions, characteristics of the construction product and methods of verification, evaluation and attestation of conformity, assumptions for manufacture and installation, recommendations for the manufacturer (use, maintenance).

 

Until 30 June 2013, European technical approvals could be granted for the product areas listed in the following, which may be used during the period of their validity as European Technical Assessments. Guidelines for European technical approval (as they could be granted by the EOTA bodies until 30 June 2013), which were published before 1 July 2013 according to the Construction Products Directive, may be used as European Assessment Documents (Article 66(3) EU Construction Products Regulation). The condition is that the respective guideline is up-to-date and fully covers the product concerned.
