What are the main responsibilities of DIBt? In our new image video, we provide you with a short overview.

DIBt is world-renowned for its role as a technical assessment organisation providing European Technical Assessments, German national technical approvals, construction technique permits and evaluations.

However, as a centre of excellence for construction working for all of Germany's federal states, DIBt has many other responsibilities: The Institute issues recommendations on relevant building regulations, recognises and notifies independent third-party bodies and supports the federal states in the market surveillance of construction products. DIBt supports manufacturers wishing to distribute their products in Germany in its role as the German Product Contact Point for Construction. Other tasks relate to protection against radiation from construction products, the registration of energy performance certificates and inspection reports for air-conditioning and many other work areas.

Cooperation with our partners from the industry and administration and an active exchange with professionals and scientists, both at a national and international level, are key to our work.
