Non-load-bearing internal partitions
Non-load-bearing internal partitions serve to divide rooms. They do not contribute to the stability or bracing of the building. However, there may be requirements with respect to sound insulation, thermal insulation, safety in case of fire and/or fall protection.
Regulatory framework
DIBt can issue European Technical Assessments (ETAs) for non-load-bearing internal partitions (construction product marketed in the form of a kit).
DIBt grants general construction technique permits (aBG) for corresponding applications when there is no conclusive technical rule for design and execution and requirements for sound insulation, thermal insulation, safety in case of fire and/or fall protection apply.
Please also note the applicable provisions of the federal states following MVV TB, A 1.2.5.1, A 1.2.5.2 and B 2.2.1.7.
European Technical Assessment (ETA)
To start the ETA procedure, please submit the form below. We will then check if the prerequisites for issuing an ETA are met, i.e., in particular, if the product is not fully covered by an existing harmonised standard. If the prerequisites are met, we will check whether a European Assessment Document (EAD) covering the requested assessment scope already exists or still needs to be developed. If an EAD needs to be developed or amended, a complete technical file needs to be established before the procedure can begin.
