Scaffold anchors
Scaffolds are temporarily connected to the structure with scaffold anchors. A scaffold anchor consists of a part permanently embedded in the concrete (e.g. threaded plate or anchor plate), the connection point (e.g. anchor rod or suspension cone / climbing cone) and, where necessary, a fixing screw or nut. The scaffold anchor is installed in the formwork and concreted in during the concreting of a new section. It is then used as a support for climbing and bracket scaffolding for the subsequent concreting section (this principle also applies to climbing formwork, cornice formwork and other special scaffolding). After their removal, undamaged parts of the scaffold anchor may be reused at a new anchorage point.
Regulatory framework
DIBt grants national technical approvals (abZ) for scaffold anchors.
Furthermore, DIBt grants general construction technique permits (aBG) for construction techniques comprising scaffold anchors for which there are no conclusive technical rules.

National procedure
A national technical approval (abZ) and/or oder general construction technique permit (aBG) is granted upon application (see Model Building Code (MBO), Sections 16a(2) and18(2) and (4)). This also applies to amendments and supplements to, or renewals of existing approvals and/or construction technique permits.
No formal requirements apply. The following information is needed: name and address of the applicant, description of the product and/or construction technique and its field of use or application, type of decision required (new decision, amendment or supplement to, or renewal of, an existing decision).
