Anchor channels
An anchor channel is a fastening system that consists of a channel profile with permanently attached anchors and channel bolts. The channel profile with the anchors is fastened to the formwork prior to concreting and then cast in. The anchor channel is anchored in concrete through a form-fit between the anchor and the concrete member. The element to be attached is later fastened to the embedded channel profile with the channel bolt. The bolt head transmits the loads via the channel lips into the channel profile. There are channels with smooth channel lips and bolt heads and channels with serrated channel lips and bolt heads. Anchor channels allow flexible fastening along the channel axis.
Regulatory framework
DIBt grants national technical approvals (abZ) for anchor channels. European Technical Assessments (ETAs) can also be issued.
Furthermore, DIBt grants general construction technique permits (aBG) for construction techniques comprising anchor channels for which there are no conclusive technical rules.

European Technical Assessment (ETA)
To start the ETA procedure, please submit the form below. We will then check if the prerequisites for issuing an ETA are met, i.e., in particular, if the product is not fully covered by an existing harmonised standard. If the prerequisites are met, we will check whether a European Assessment Document (EAD) covering the requested assessment scope already exists or still needs to be developed. If an EAD needs to be developed or amended, a complete technical file needs to be established before the procedure can begin.
