Separator systems for light liquids
Separator systems for light liquids serve to separate light liquids of mineral origin from commercial wastewater.
Separator systems for light liquids are covered by harmonised standard EN 858-1 and must bear the CE marking.
Concerning the use of separator systems for light liquids, please note the relevant provisions of the federal states following MVV TB, Section B 4.2 'Technical requirements for installation, operation and maintenance of systems using construction products for wastewater treatment'.
Systems not covered by the harmonised standard may fall under the Ordinance on the determination of the suitability of construction products and construction techniques under water law by means of verifications in accordance with the Building Codes of the federal states (WasBauPVO). Cf. WasBauPVO, Section 1(1)(g) 'Systems for limiting hydrocarbons in mineral oil containing wastewater'. (Please also see Systems for limiting hydrocarbons in mineral oil containing wastewater with biodiesel, bio heating oil and ethanol contents.)
DIBt grants national technical approvals (abZ) in combination with general construction technique permits (aBG) for the latter. The abZ/aBG serve to verify the suitability of the systems both from a construction and water legislation point of view.
National technical approvals were granted for separator systems for light liquids until October 2016. As a result of the implementation of the judgement of the European Court of Justice of 16 October 2014 in case C-100/13, national technical approvals are no longer granted for these products if they bear the CE marking on the basis of the Construction Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 305/2011). The products may not be marked with the national conformity mark. Approvals for which the period of validity has not yet expired are listed below. They can be used on a voluntary basis to prove fulfilment of the regulatory requirements.
Principles, guidance, recommendations
